As an Educational Psychologist, it has always been my passion to make a positive impact on the lives of children and help them to actualize their optimal potential as well as to provide guidance and support to overcome their learning disabilities and emotional obstacles.
My career started as a teacher, after obtaining a BA(ED)Music degree from the University of Pretoria, which explains my love for playing piano and more recently starting flute lessons in my free time. While living abroad for 18 years on a four-years- in, four-years-out basis, I have furthered my dream to educate myself in supporting and assisting children with special needs and emotional difficulties and thus continued my studies to obtain a Doctorate degree in Educational Psychology in 2010. I am also registered as an Educational Psychologist with the South African Health Professions Council.
Whilst working at a school for children with physical and learning disabilities, I realised how severely negative the dynamics can become when a child is diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, not only on the individual child, but also on his family members, in his school career and ultimately in his social life. I started the Biolink business in Stellenbosch in September 2016.
At Biolink Stellenbosch we strive to work with integrity and honesty to make every person feel special, successful and empowered to overcome any difficulties they may encounter. Biolink not only serves children with specific challenges, but also assist top-achievers, sportsmen, students, and pensioners to improve their memory and concentration abilities.
We work hand-in-hand with all role players, therapists and professionals in order to provide a high level of professional service to each client. Every child is respected and accepted unconditionally, and I deem it a privilege to see the growth and improvement that we make in each person’s life!
At Biolink Attention Training, we offer support, hope, answers, and solutions for children and adults with ADHD and other learning disorders or academic challenges. We also provide resources and training toward the continuous professional development of teachers, as required by die South African Council of Educators.
Study after study confirms children today are struggling more than ever before with academic, social, and behavioural issues that impact their success in school.
We want to take hands with parents and teachers to ensure our children get the best support and assistance when having academic or learning challenges. We strongly believe that the role parents play in the school system should be clearly defined, and teachers should be the inspirational leaders of a diverse world.
The only way we can do that, is by empowering parents and teachers. We want to generate new knowledge through a broad array of workshops, research materials, and supportive information, and use the content for classroom strategies.
